The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss

There are those who work all day for pennies on the dollar, and then there are those who work only a few hours per week and earn big bucks. Most folks would prefer to live their lives working only a minimal amount of time and then spend their free time enjoying life. There is a book called “The 4-Hour Work Week” that focuses on helping people to quit their day jobs, go into business for themselves, learn to outsource, and most importantly, learn how to make more money and enjoy more of life.

One of the main points of “The 4-Hour Work Week” talks about how outsourcing can be applied to your business. Now, if you don’t already own your own established business, it is highly recommended that you find something you’re interested in doing and go with it. The number-one way to escape from your daily work routine is to go into business for yourself. Once you’ve discovered what it is you want to do, the next thing is figuring out how to run your business without allowing it to take up all of your time, and that is where outsourcing comes into play.

Even if you’ve just started a business, outsourcing should be something that is considered right away. Although you may not have a lot of customers at first, the time spent tending to the lesser part of your business is time that you could be spending focusing on the things that matter. Outsourcing is the perfect way to provide yourself with more time and also help you save money in the long run.

Outsourcing is required before and after your business begins to grow. It can also help you to reduce office expenses, all while putting more cash in your pocket. One example of this is when a company begins to obtain so many customers that there is literally no way that one small team of employees can do it all. Instead, they outsource by allowing telemarketers and outbound call center reps do the work for them. In turn, more money is made by increasing the overall amount of customers while reducing the work load for the main business owners.

Business owners who opt for outsourcing not only increase their overall amount of customers, but can also ease the amount of stress experienced when the workload is too high. Fortunately, outsourcing does not have to become a permanent thing. Once you’ve regained control over the chaos and insurmountable amount of projects in the office, you can either return to business as usual or choose to continue with your contract.

Oftentimes, a business will require much more skill than the current business owners and employees possess. Instead of spending money to go back to school and time away from the office obtaining new skills, choosing to contract with an outsourcing company can bring a much greater benefit. It can also save time from having to find someone more suitable for the job, as well as save the company some extra money from paying another individual an expensive yearly salary, particularly if the company is low on funds.

There is also the option to outsource when someone from your business is on medical leave or vacation, ensuring that everything continues to run smoothly. This also prevents people from spending money on ads or finding a replacement – which may not be such a good idea in the long run, especially if they are not trained and do not know what they are doing.

Yet another way that outsourcing can benefit your business is by helping you to put everything on “autopilot” which simply means that you make money when you’re not working. The money spent on outsourcing is simply a small investment that provides a huge return in the short term.

It’s very possible to work only 4 hours per week – at least that is the way the rich folks do it. The best part is that it’s not even difficult. There are no additional skills involved. As a result, you spend more time doing whatever it is that you want without having to put forth too much effort.
